Shower with Family and Friends

My family and friends threw me a shower in anticipation of Creed's arrival. I can't believe that he will be here in under a month! Crazy! Now that I have the walking cast on and I feel VERY pregnant, I'm totally OK with him coming early if he decides to (although I would love to have him 8/25, Rusty's Grandmother's birthday). We'll see what God wants...

Anyway, the shower was at my dear friend Tracy Franco's home. Her house is amazing and she is always opening it up to me. She and Trisha hosted the shower for me and I can't express to them just how thankful I am! Everything was perfect...even the cake! Bless Trisha's heart...a friend of her made the most adorable cake for the shower but due to the heat (I believe it got up to 107 that day), the icing melted and the cake collapsed. It was hilarious. We just smiled, at the DELICIOUS cake, and moved on. No harm done and who are we to let yummy carrot cake with chocoalate icing go to waste?

Diaper Shower with Sunday School Friends

My dear friends from Sunday School threw myself and two other girls a Diaper Shower. I couldn't believe how blessed we were with the amount of diapers and wipes that we received! Here's a pic of all of the pregos (including Ashley - who isn't due until November) in order of due dates. Me - August 29th, Sarah Mason (wife to Paul Mason for those of you reading from DeSoto) - September 15th, Jessica Webster - September 15th, and Ashley Haden - November 6th.

Clutsy AND 8 months pregnant...

While taking a lunch break with my friend Kim from work, I stepped up on a curb and my foot went the opposite direction. Needless to say, I fell down on my left side and couldn't move my foot. After a trip to the ER, it was determined that I tore a ligament in my ankle. FUN! Now I get to wear a "magic boot", as Carson calls it, for the next 3 1/2 weeks. It didn't take my ankle long to swell...everytime I look at it I think that my leg belongs to someone else. Weird.

Big Brother on the Lookout

We had a long heart to heart with Jonah last night to discuss how he is a big boy and doesn't need to come into Mommy and Daddy's room in the middle of the night. I think when Carson wakes up in the middle of the night to potty it wakes Jonah up also. We talked to Carson about being a big brother and how he needed to try and keep Jonah in his bed and assure him that he was safe there.

Well at about 2AM I wake up to two little boys running into my room (Carson is chasing Jonah). Carson says, "Mom I told him not to be scared but he had to come to your room! I told him to be a big boy and stay!" Miraculously Rusty slept through this entire fiasco (or so he claims). So here I am, 8 months pregnant with a newly sprained ankle (read yesterday's blog) and I'm hobbling down the hall to escort them back to their room. Jonah's upset so I'm trying to calm him on the bottom bunk and Carson asks, "Mom - how can God be in your heart and in Heaven to?" As much as I wanted to marvel at this sweet, innocent question, I was exhausted. I said, "Sweety God is everywhere. He's watching you right now try to be a good big brother to Jonah by keeping him in his big boy bed. Let's talk more in the morning." I could tell his little mind was spinning. I got Jonah to bed and made a stop in their restroom. The door opens and there is Carson. "Mom-isn't it weird that God made you go to the bathroom right when I have to go to the bathroom?!" I smiled at him with sleepy, closed eyes. It's pushing 2:45 now. "Yes sweety, God works in mysterious ways."

Needless to say Carson was exhausted the next morning due to all of the activity throughout the night. I love his sweet questions and his effort in becoming the BEST big brother!

Carson's Date Night

Jonah took his first trip to Bowie this weekend. That left Rusty and I to spend some quality time with Carson. We had so much fun! He mowed the grass with Rusty, helped both of us put Creed's crib together, he even go to go up in the attic with Daddy (something he's been begging to do since the age of 2). The best part for Mom though was the date night. We headed to Firewheel mall in north Garland and enjoyed watching Disney's Wall-E, eating at The Flying Fish and doing a little shopping. All three of us really enjoyed it...

4th of July with Friends

We were blessed to have Trisha, Alan and Paw offer to take the boys to Arkansas for our family reunion over 4th of July weekend. Rusty and I headed to a lake nearby with friends. We had a blast! Here are some pics from the weekend with Mitzi, Jason, Erin, Michael, Ian and Michelle. We look forward to it being an annual trip!
